Comprehensive eye examinations

Our comprehensive eye examinations are designed to give you the time, attention and expert care you deserve. Using advanced technology, including OCT and iCare tonometry, we assess both your vision and the long-term health of your eyes in a calm, welcoming environment.

What to expect during your eye examination

Your appointment is designed to give us a complete picture of both your vision and the health of your eyes.

As part of your examination, we will carry out all of the essential tests you require, including:

  • Measuring your glasses prescription
  • Checking the quality of your vision
  • Assessing how well your eyes work together
  • Examining the front of your eyes
  • Looking at the health of the retina and optic nerve

Throughout your appointment, we'll explain everything clearly and discuss our findings with you, so you leave with a good understanding of your eye health.

OCT eye scans

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) allows us to take detailed cross-sectional images of the back of your eyes. This helps us detect changes that may not be visible during a standard examination and can identify signs of certain eye conditions at an earlier stage.

The scan is quick, comfortable and non-invasive, giving us valuable information to support your long-term eye health. This benchmark allows us to monitor any changes between appointments.

iCare Tonometry

We also use iCare tonometry to measure the pressure inside your eyes.

Unlike traditional methods, iCare uses a gentle probe that makes the test quick and comfortable, with no need for anaesthetic drops in most cases. Measuring eye pressure is an important part of assessing your eye health and can help us identify signs of conditions such as glaucoma.
